Lock Model Overview
Several functions in this guide depend on your lock model. Use this page to identify your hardware and its capabilities.
Identifying Your Model
- Classic locks (model codes starting with
C2-) have a rounded housing; PRO locks (three-letter model codes starting withD) are the current generation with a vandalism-resistant metal housing. - The model designation is printed on the label on the lock.
The C2 series is only available for existing customers. All new projects should use the I LOCK IT PRO models.
Decoding the PRO Model Code
Every I LOCK IT PRO has a three-letter product code:

The Three PRO Editions
- Alarm Edition (
DA…): Bluetooth-only, no GPS. For fleets where reliable theft protection via alarm is the focus and no permanent tracking is required. - GPS 4G Edition (
DE…): Integrated GPS with 4G (LTE) connectivity for permanent or alarm-based tracking. Permanent tracking requires an external power supply; a separate GPS tracking subscription is required. - Essential Edition (
DC…): Reduced model without GPS, without alarm, without button, and without plug-in port — for OEM and integration scenarios with minimal cost. Because there is no button, Essential locks cannot be opened via color code and are operated exclusively via the app / API.
UART (…H) and CAN bus (…J) sub-variants provide direct serial or CAN connections for OEM integrations into vehicle control units — see the developer documentation.

All models except the Essential Edition (DC…) include the integrated alarm system.

:::warning Legacy 2G Models
Models with 2G/GSM connectivity (C2-04-S1, C2-04-S2, and legacy DB… PRO models) are affected by the ongoing 2G network shutdown in Europe and are no longer offered. See 2G Network Shutdown for what this means for your existing fleet.

What the Differences Mean in Practice
- Bluetooth-only models (C2-03-S3, DAD) are operated exclusively on-site via the Service App or the color code. They do not appear on the tracking portal map.
- GPS models (C2-04-S1, DBD, DED, DEK) report positions and events to the tracking portal and start emergency tracking on alarm.
- GPS Premium models (C2-04-S2, DBF, DEF) can be wired to the e-bike power supply for constant tracking and full remote control via the REST API.
- PRO-only features: changing the service color code, double-tap locking, the White color in the color code, and automatic locking when a plug-in cable is inserted (production configuration).
- Remote control (backend open/close) is only possible with GPS models that are permanently powered, and the fleet management software must support it — verify this with your software partner before purchase. See Lock Operation.
